Elephant and Dachshund Earrings

This Week @ Emily Lupita Studio:

This week I’ve been trying out a few new styles of jewelry for my animal artwork. I love animals and it gives me so much joy to draw animals in all sorts of bright colors & wonderful forms.

Winged Elephants

My favorite thing is to add wings and let them fly.

Recently I came across another style of jewelry to add to my collection – the glass teardrop. I made two prototypes of this new style to see how they look & feel.

I think they turned out really nice. The winged elephants feel light and bright in this new style. And the dachshunds seem to love them, too.

Design Decision:

I’m trying to decided if I should also try color designs with this new earring style or stick to the minimalist black and white ink drawings. What do you think? I’d love to hear your ideas.

The dog earrings without color are nice because you can see the design very well and I like that, the color earrings would be good to make too because they have personality. Make some of each.

  I’m so glad you like the black and white ones – it was something new I tried and I wasn’t sure how they’d turn out. It’s hard sometimes to decide which designs to use, but that’s part of the challenge and joy of making this type of artwork jewelry. I’ll start on some colorful ones. 🙂
