My newest project is to create custom blankets for my boys. I wanted them to have something special with my artwork on it that they can use and enjoy. I started with two of my favorite photographs, then made the art portraits from there. These portraits are digital made by hand using my Apple pencil and the design program Procreate.
Then I added a background to each one – Japanese paper designs. Finally, I uploaded the finished paintings to Spoonflower online to be made into custom fabric. I chose the “minky” fabric for it’s soft and fuzzy quality. I was so excited when the fabric arrived! Wow, it’s so much brighter and more vivid than I even imagined. And the paintings look so cool in this large size.
The next step is to sew them into blankets. I’ll post again with the finished blankets…my hope is I can finish before Christmas.
