Evolution of a Giant Butterfly

View from my Art Desk – Evolution of a Giant Butterfly:

My art desk was overflowing with a giant Lupita butterfly painting that barely fit on my easel.

I made this butterfly drawing back in the Spring in my sketchbook and recently had the sudden notion to just start drawing it on this massive piece of watercolor paper.

It was fun choosing the color scheme and filling in the jazzy collection of shapes.

I started with blue as my main color, then added pink, green, yellow and orange – all in typical Lupita fashion.

Here it is all framed and on display at the MSAA Gallery…the biggest butterfly I’ve made yet.

Sending wishes for a beautiful week ahead,
